VASO6®
Mechanism of Action +
### Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS) Activation VASO6® functions primarily through the upregulation and activation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS). Unlike generic green tea extract, which is typically standardized for epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) to promote fat oxidation and antioxidant activity, VASO6® is specifically fractionated to isolate gallate-enhanced oligomers. These specific oligomeric compounds have been identified as potent stimulators of the eNOS enzyme. eNOS is responsible for catalyzing the conversion of the amino acid L-arginine into nitric oxide (NO) and L-citrulline within the endothelial cells that line the interior surface of blood vessels.
### The cGMP Vasodilation Pathway Once nitric oxide is synthesized by eNOS, it acts as a highly reactive, short-lived paracrine signaling molecule. It diffuses rapidly from the endothelium into the adjacent vascular smooth muscle cells. Inside the smooth muscle, NO binds to the heme moiety of soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC), activating the enzyme. Activated sGC catalyzes the conversion of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) into cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). Elevated intracellular cGMP levels then activate Protein Kinase G (PKG). PKG phosphorylates several target proteins that ultimately lead to a decrease in intracellular calcium concentrations and the desensitization of the contractile machinery to calcium. This cascade results in the relaxation of the smooth muscle cells, causing the blood vessel to dilate (vasodilation).
### Hemodynamic Effects and Performance The resulting vasodilation from VASO6® administration leads to a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance and an increase in localized blood flow (hyperemia). In a sports nutrition context, this enhanced hemodynamic response facilitates superior oxygen and nutrient delivery to contracting skeletal muscle, while simultaneously accelerating the clearance of metabolic byproducts such as hydrogen ions and inorganic phosphate. This mechanism not only produces the cosmetic 'pump' sought by bodybuilders but also delays the onset of muscular fatigue, thereby increasing endurance and exercise capacity.

Everything About VASO6® Article
## What is VASO6®?
VASO6® is a patented, highly specialized green tea extract designed specifically for sports nutrition and performance enhancement. While traditional green tea extracts are famous for their antioxidant properties and fat-burning potential (largely due to the catechin EGCG), VASO6® is entirely different. It is fractionated to isolate specific gallate-enhanced oligomers—the exact compounds in green tea that have been identified to stimulate nitric oxide (NO) production.
By focusing exclusively on these oligomers, VASO6® has become one of the most popular and effective non-stimulant pump ingredients on the market. It is widely used in premium pre-workouts and standalone pump formulas to deliver intense vascularity, muscle fullness, and enhanced endurance without the need for central nervous system stimulants.
## The Science of Green Tea Oligomers and eNOS
To understand how VASO6® works, we must look at the endothelium—the thin membrane that lines the inside of the heart and blood vessels. Endothelial cells release substances that control vascular relaxation and contraction. One of the most critical enzymes in this process is endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS).
VASO6® works by upregulating and activating eNOS. When eNOS is activated, it converts the amino acid L-arginine (which is naturally present in your blood) into nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is a signaling molecule that tells the smooth muscle cells wrapped around your blood vessels to relax. When these muscles relax, the blood vessels widen—a process known as vasodilation.
This widening allows a significantly greater volume of blood to flow through the vessels. For an athlete or bodybuilder, this means more oxygen, more amino acids, and more glucose are delivered directly to the working muscles exactly when they are needed most.
## Nitric Oxide: The Key to the Pump and Performance
The benefits of increased nitric oxide extend far beyond the cosmetic appeal of a muscle "pump." While the swelling of the muscle belly (hyperemia) feels great and can help stretch the muscle fascia, the physiological benefits of NO are what truly drive performance.
During intense exercise, your muscles rapidly consume oxygen and energy stores, producing metabolic waste products like hydrogen ions and inorganic phosphate. If these waste products accumulate too quickly, the muscle becomes acidic, leading to the burning sensation and eventual muscular failure. The massive increase in blood flow facilitated by VASO6® acts like a superhighway. It rushes fresh oxygen and nutrients in, while simultaneously flushing the fatigue-inducing waste products out. This dual action delays the onset of fatigue, allowing you to push out extra reps, sustain higher power output, and train harder for longer periods.
## Dosage and Stacking
The clinical and industry-standard dose for VASO6® is 300mg per day. Because it is a highly concentrated and patented extract, you do not need massive gram-level doses to see effects, unlike L-Citrulline or L-Arginine.
VASO6® is incredibly versatile and is often stacked with other nitric oxide boosters for a synergistic effect. A highly effective strategy is to combine VASO6® (which stimulates the eNOS enzyme) with L-Citrulline (which provides the raw material/substrate for the enzyme). Stacking it with ingredients like Agmatine Sulfate or Glycerol can further enhance muscle fullness and prolong the pump for hours after the workout is over.
## Potential Side Effects and Interactions
Because VASO6® is a potent stimulator of nitric oxide, it is generally safe for healthy adults but does come with specific contraindications. Nitric oxide interacts with several medications. According to pharmacological data, nitric oxide pathways can interact with over 30 drugs.
Most notably, individuals taking PDE5 inhibitors (such as Cialis/tadalafil or Viagra/sildenafil) must exercise extreme caution or avoid NO boosters entirely, as the combination can lead to a dangerous, synergistic drop in blood pressure. Similarly, those on prescription blood pressure medications (like Metoprolol or Entresto) or blood thinners (like Eliquis or Aspirin) should consult a physician before using VASO6®.
In rare cases of excessive nitric oxide levels, individuals might experience dizziness, lightheadedness (especially when standing up quickly), or headaches due to the profound vasodilation. However, at the standard 300mg dose, VASO6® is exceptionally well-tolerated by the vast majority of users.
