SuppVault Methodology

How We Score Every Product

2,040 products. 100 data points each. Zero guesswork.

85/100

Section 01

The SuppVault Score

Every product receives a score from 0 to 100. It's computed from 100 category-specific questions, each scored 1–10 and weighted so formula quality matters more than flavor. The result is a single number that tells you how a product actually stacks up — based on evidence, not opinions.

SuppVault Score = 100 × (T / Tmax)
T = sum of (score × weight) for all answered questions
Tmax = sum of (10 × weight) for all answered questions

The weighted sum collapses 100 data points into one number. Questions about ingredient dosing carry 2× weight. Questions about taste carry 1×. The math is transparent — the score reflects what matters most for an effective supplement.

Section 02

The 4 Evidence Tiers

Formula drives the score. A product with a great formula but average taste still scores well. A product with great taste but underdosed ingredients does not.

Section 03

Category-Specific Questions

Every product is scored against its own category's standards. A pre-workout isn't compared to a protein — it's compared to other pre-workouts.

100 questions covering pump intensity, focus clarity, energy sustainability, crash severity, tingle tolerance, stim safety, flavor, mixability, value, and repurchase.

Section 05

Prop Blend Transparency

We don't penalize proprietary blends.

Prop blends are a formulation choice, not a quality indicator. Some of the best-selling products in supplements use prop blends. But transparency IS a dimension — products with full dose disclosure naturally score higher on that axis.

A prop blend with great ingredients still scores well overall. We show you the data. You decide.

Section 06

Score Tiers

90–100
Elite
Category king. Clinical doses, verified testing, proven formula.
80–89
Excellent
Strong across the board. Minor gaps, not dealbreakers.
70–79
Strong
Solid product. May lack testing verification or have some underdosed ingredients.
60–69
Solid
Functional. Gets the job done but clear room for improvement.
Below 60
Average
Consider alternatives. Significant gaps in formula, testing, or value.

Section 09

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Star ratings are opinion averages. The SuppVault Score is evidence-weighted — formula quality counts 2× more than taste. A product can have 5-star reviews for flavor and still score low if the formula is underdosed.
Probably transparency or testing. Great-tasting products with proprietary blends or no third-party testing lose points on those dimensions. The score measures the whole product, not just how it tastes.
Yes. If a brand adds third-party testing, publishes Certificates of Analysis, or reformulates with clinical doses, the score updates. We re-evaluate products as new data becomes available.
No. Scores are computed from data. We sell the products regardless of score. Every product in our catalog gets the same scoring treatment — there is no pay-to-play.
Performance and Experience scores require customer review data. We're building that layer now. Formula and Value scores are computed from label data and pricing — those are available immediately.
